Joe Spell, CEO of Lafayette-based Tides Medical, was named Entrepreneur of the Year for the Gulf South region.
The award, presented by Ernst & Young LLP, is given to business leaders of high-growth companies and is judged by a panel of previous winners, leading CEOs and other business leaders, officials announced.
Candidates were evaluated based on their ability to create long-term value through entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to their purpose and the demonstration of growth and substantial impact.
Spell will now be considered for the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024 National Awards, including the overall winner, to be announced in November.
“Being an entrepreneur is not a solo sport,” Spell said, “Thankfully I surround myself with an incredible team who share my mission to support patients in need and who work together to meet the challenges of a growing business head-on.”
Tides Medical is an amniotic tissue manufacturer that acquires, processes and distributes advanced wound care therapies for patients nationwide.
